Infectious Disease

Gastrointestinal Pathogen Panel (GPP)

Our GPP identifies and detects multiple disease-causing viruses, bacteria and parasites to help diagnose an infection of the gastrointestinal tract, providing results within 24 hours. This is useful for rapidly detecting gastrointestinal infections caused by campylobacter, salmonella, clostridium and others. These infections are potentially serious in newborns, infants, elderly and immunocompromised patients. The GPP is highly sensitive and specific in detecting the most common pathogens and provides a faster diagnosis with fewer tests.

Respiratory Pathogen Panel (RPP)

Our RPP detects multiple viral and bacterial agents that encompass more than just influenza and RSV. It has a higher sensitivity and specificity than traditional testing, provides results within 24 hours, increases the body’s antibiotic and antiviral stewardship, decreases cost and increases patient care.

Respiratory tract infections (RTI) include any infectious disease of the upper or lower respiratory tract, such as the common cold, laryngitis, tonsillitis and more. RTIs lead to more doctor visits and missed school and workdays than any other illness. High risk patients are more likely to develop complications, be hospitalized or even die from complications. Traditional diagnostic and treatment methods are slow, inaccurate and incomplete.

Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD)

If you are sexually active, it’s important to screen for STDs, as some diseases show no outward signs or symptoms.

Our comprehensive STD panel tests for 11 of the most common STDs, such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes I & II, HPV, syphilis and trichomoniasis, as well as HIV 1 and 2, hepatitis b and c, bacterial vaginitis and urinary tract infections. Our methods are simple and effective at detecting the presence of any diseases or infections, while providing results within 24 hours.

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)

UTIs represent one of the most common causes of outpatient visits in the United States. Recent data indicates that UTIs are increasing due to multi-drug resistant pathogens that are spreading because of widespread use of broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy instead of a targeted approach. The choice of which drugs to prescribe and for how long depends on the patient’s health condition and the type of bacteria found in the urine.

Our UTI test is a rapid, sensitive and specific PCR test capable of detecting 16 different pathogens and five drug resistance markers. This test can be used to detect and identify specific pathogens and drug resistance markers in individuals with a UTI and thus improves diagnosis and facilitates selection of the appropriate regimen as well as help distinguish a reinfection from a relapse. The test screens for possible problems with your metabolism and kidneys and can help alert you to possible issues by checking for protein, glucose and other substances in your urine.
